SketchUp took a lot longer than anticipated even though most of the furnitures were taken from the 3D warehouse. Some of them were later further modified by me. But I felt it was really useful as it allowed me to see the space better and considered potential camera angles of how I wanted the people to interact in it.
Since I already had the basic layout of my model in SketchUp while I was coming up with the design, I thought I should expand on that and really go all the way with it.
I also learnt that you can create an animatic from your SketchUp too!
Go to View > Animations > Add Scenes (Select your scenes and it will automatically compile it for you. You can also play it to view how all the scenes comes together in a video)
To Export: Files > Export > Export animation
And then you can put it through premiere pro or iMovies to add the additional sound effects.
Given if I had more time, maybe it would be nice to learn how to put this through photoshop or some other app (I heard Cinema4D is another good one) to make it more realistic by adding light coming out from the lanterns and texture to the space. But for now, I am really happy with how far I have come. Especially when I went back to see my first SketchUp and this one! There is such an improvement! :) Who says handwork does not pays?
(Ps. If you wish to see the SketchUp version of just the space without the furnitures, go to Macbeth > Under Design on blog)
